Heading Back East/ #Halberfest
* I know, I know. I was supposed to post this last week and time got away from me. So here it is now :)
After a long summer out in Colorado, I am finally beginning my trek back East. I was originally supposed to be driving, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, I ended up sitting on a plane heading to Greenwich, Conn. (Not that I am complaining about not driving 30 hours). After flying back, I have rejoined the rest of the ChukkerTV crew for the remainder of the East Coast Open.
It was a very long two months in Colorado, but I did manage to do a bit of sightseeing and ended up having some fun. Ally and I did a bunch of hiking and tried some of the local restaurants. Keep an eye out for a facebook album soon from my summer adventures.
Now that I am in Greenwich, the ECO is underway and we have been driving all over NY and Connecticut for games. Nothing like being back in the car and driving for polo. But at least Im back on the east coast and getting closer to being home. Speaking of home, I was able to get back to PA this weekend for a few days.
Geoff and Lauren finally got married and I am so excited. Mom came to pick me up from Connecticut on Friday and then I picked up Joe. I was able to spend some time at home which was nice, seeing my monsters and a quick pit stop at Millstone, where I saw some of the ponies and Bubby.
It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but totally worth it. Saturday morning, Joe and I made our trek to PSU for the first game of the season. We were able to find the Coughlin's tailgate, so he got introduced to everyone. I haven't seen the girls or Geoff in years so it was such a good weekend catching up. The game was really good, even though we only stayed till halftime. I was getting super sunburnt, we we left and watched the second half downtown, which also gave me a chance to show Joe around my old stomping grounds.
Saturday night we stayed at an AirBNB in Bellfonte. It was a little out of the way, but was really quiet and low key, perfect for Joe and I to have some time to ourselves after not seeing each other since graduation. Sunday morning, we got ready at the house and then once we checked into the hotel, walked over to the Spiritual Center where Geoff and Lauren had the wedding. It was so pretty and even though it was a Catholic Mass and I didn't know much of what was going on, the ceremony was beautiful. The reception was held at Potters Farm, and was just as beautiful. There were twinkly lights all over and we had the best time. I got to hang out with my roomies and reminisce and it was the perfect way to reconnect after a few years. Now, we just need to not wait four more years for all of us to get together again.
Now I am back in Greenwich getting ready for the ECO finals. One more week and I make my trek back to Florida. :)
