Light at the End of the Tunnel
The last few week's have finally started to slow down with work. There are only three more weekends of polo and I am actually getting some time to do some things outside of the polo field and the office. The spring season isn't as busy as the rest of the year, but with games last minute and always changing, it will be nice to have a break for a little bit. Until the summer season at least.
For now, I have been able to ride at least two times a week, which has been fantastic. I've been riding this little Thoroughbred of Alan's names Maguire and I love him. He's so much fun and I think we've finally come to figure each other out (it took a few weeks). I have also been able to ride a few others in the barn, which is always good to get on other stuff and keep me going. Hopefully one of these days I'll find one I love enough to make the leap again and take for myself. Even though George is my one true love and I can't wait to see him in a few weeks!
This past weekend was beautiful and thankfully so, since it was SunFest in West Palm Beach. After work on Sunday, I made my way downtown and met Kendall to hang out and watch Blink182 in concert. Talk about high school flashbacks. We had fun though and the concert was really good. There were tons of people there but for such a nice day out, it didn't even matter that it was jam packed.
In a few weeks I start my summer of travel- not necessarily with Chukkertv, but back and forth around the world on my own. Here is the countdown: 22 days until New Orleans for Kelsey's bachelorette party, 30 days until Allentown for Ben's graduation (holy crap, he's graduating high school), 43 days until I'm back in New Jersey/Allentown for Kelsey's wedding (I still can't believe she's getting married before me, way before me haha), and then last but certainly not least, 63 days until I take off for Iceland with Grandma, Noah and Ben on the trip of a lifetime. Lots of globetrotting for me, but that's the stuff I live for.
It's going to be whirlwind next couple of weeks, but that is what I like doing. I would rather be running around than sitting doing nothing. I can't wait for the summer to start and the adventures to begin. The next few weeks of polo are going to fly by and then it's jet setting around the world for me :)
