The waiting game
Just as with horse shows, it's hurry up and wait. Right now, I am just beginning to get back in the show ring, but have been furiously applying to jobs.
So it's hurry up to apply to as many positions as I can so I can get back to the Sunshine state. Now I am waiting to hear back from all those applications. I think the waiting is the hardest part. I don't remember it being this hard after college graduation.
Looking for jobs was tough, and the unknown was horrible, but at least employers got back to you and let you know if the position was still available or if you were even a candidate. Now, it is just wait, and call them to see if they still have your application, then wait some more.
I don't think I even wait this long to go back into the show ring after warming up in the mornings. I feel like have done my warm-up class, gotten all my stuff together, and now the judge has left the showgrounds without a word. Just no letting us know what the status is and when we should know what is going on.
The waiting is the worst part. A no would even be nice. A yes would be even better. In the meantime, I guess I'll stick with my routine. Go to the barn, make it through the work day, go to the barn and look for more jobs. At least the horses are keeping me sane and make good bookends to my day :)
