From the beach to the tundra
Just think, a few days ago, I was lounging on the beach in 80 degree weather. Now, I am bundled up in a sweater curled on my bed, not wanting to leave my house. Welcome to Allentown. Welcome to 'winter break.'
Over the past week, my roommates and I had our own Christmas celebrations. We set aside a night where we were all at home, sat down to dinner at the dining room table (which very rarely happens) and then spent the night opening presents and relaxing together. Besides the opening presents part, this might sound like something that should happen on a normal basis. But we live together, work together, and mostly hang out together, so by the time 8 or 9 o'clock rolls around, most nights we end up going our separate ways and hibernating in our rooms/deck/boyfriend's house. So we had our roomie bonding night before we all left for the holidays. It was fun, and hopefully, since season is starting, we can try to do that every so often, so we don't just pass by in the hallway.
Joe and I also exchanged gifts, since we are both up north for Chsirtmas, yet in different states. He loved the tickets I got him, even if we need to choose a new date. And he was in no way expecting the other stuff I gave him :) I can honestly say that I have the best boyfriend ever as he got me the best gifts for the '39 days of hanukkah.' Especially since they mean so much :)
On Friday, we went to dinner at Bubba Gumps, which I thought was very cool. I had never been there and it was right on the water, perfect location, right next to the lighthouse. After an amazing dinner, we went to the movies to see Anchorman 2, which was very funny, and I recommend going to see.
Saturday, we had a beach day in Delray, since Matt was down visiting. It was the perfect day to lay out all day in the sun and I am more than happy to be living so close to the beach and am going to eb taking advantage of it as much as possible. Allison, Matt's girlfriend, met us for dinner. We just ate the good ole' Glen Eagles, but it was still good.
Also, I was able to see my pony!!! I miss him so much, He looks so good and is happy. We had a mini photo shoot session, so forgive all the photos. He heard all about my new riding adventures with Nona Garson, and how she is letting me ride a few of her horses a few times a week, including a pony, so more information to come on that next time.
I think that covers it for now. Happy holidays everyone!!! Enjoy your family, friends, and furry four-legged animals.
