Back to the Working World
I have been sorely lacking in the blog posts the past few weeks and as much as I say I will get better about writing, life just seems to get busier and busier. Since I came back from my mini vacation to the north polo, aka Allentown in February, I have jumped right back into the working world.
For the past few weeks, I have been working with ChukerTV as their Director of Media and I absolutely love it. I was a little hesitant to take the full-time job when it was offered, partially because I had gotten used to having my own schedule and partially because I didn't know if I wanted to stay in the horse industry for work. But after the last few weeks, I can say that I definitely made the right choice.
Everyone at the company is great to work with. My coworkers are so nice and it is a young group of us which makes the dynamic really good. There is only me, Ally and Steph in a group of guys, but as I said, it is a really good group of people. Mike, my boss, is awesome as well and we get along really well (which is a plus.) The hours are fairly flexible, with polo games everyday, it is a non-stop job. Since I have class, and we all have outside lives, we just work all that around work so no one burns out or decides to hate the job. Another plus... the office is not only just 5 min from the apartment, but at Melissa Ganzi's house. We have access to the training facility that the polo players use which includes a sauna and masseuse. I think I might get a little spoiled at this job.
For the first time in a very long time, I can say that I am very happy with my job. I am doing all of the social media for the company, some graphic and web work, and the occasional calendar updates. I am even learning a bit about film production which is a plus.
Outside of work, things are good as well. Joe is good and he was able to meet my coworkers at dinner the other night. He also started taking classes for a certificate class in which he is doing really good. Speaking of classes, I only have a few weeks left in the semester and can't believe how fast this semester went. Soon I'll only have four more left.
Things at home are good too. Mom and Bubby are still in Ocala, while Ben and Dad are at home and Noah is freezing in NY. Grandma and Grandpa are good too, taking it one day at a time. George is good too, keeping warm and happy.
I haven't been riding as much as I would like to be, but hopefully that will pick up in the next week or two once I've gotten into my work routine. That's it for now but I'll try to be more consistent with the updates!
