The Season/Semester That Never Ended

I can finally breathe and take some time to write as high-goal season and the semester have both come to an end. It was a long few months for both of them, but I got through it with only a few minor panic attacks.

This season was by far much longer than last year. Time-wise it was the same, it just felt as if it was never going to end. ChukkerTV gained more employees, we basically doubled in size halfway through high-goal in order to accommodate all of the games that we had to film. It was a great season but I am very happy that it's over. Now we just focus on the spring at Grand Champions, then get a break before the summer.

This spring semester was the semester that never ended.  I only had two classes, only one of which actually met in person, but they both took a lot of work. I was putting in at least three hours of work each night after work for class and felt like I could never quite catch up this semester. Thankfully, all my work paid off and I completed both classes with aces. Now, only an ethics class and my capstone stand between myself and graduation on August 6 :)

Outside of work and class, I was also super stressing about the ponies in my life. Georgie is wonderful and sound and I cannot wait to see him in a few weeks when I get to go home. Lorenzo's lease on the other hand, was supposed to be up April 21 and that had me freaking out cuz it kinda creeped up on me. After a few days of panicking, mom and I decided to extend my lease until June 21 so I can keep riding him and try to get a few shows in (pending I have the time and money). This way I won't panic about the lease ending and I can just enjoy him for a bit longer. Leasing horses is awful and I need to find myself another Pudge.

The last two weekends Joe and I finally got to spend some real time together, as this season has been crazy busy. Last weekend we had Kendall's wedding in Boca which was so much fun. She looked absolutely stunning and the venue was very nice with gorgeous trees surrounding the ceremony. We had a great time and I can't say how happy I am for one of my closest friends.

This past weekend, we continued the fun and did the color run that Joe signed us up for months ago. I haven't been  running as much as I would like to (at all) so it was a bit of a struggle, but Joe pushed me through it. He ran with me the whole time and pushed me, literally pushed me to beat my record of the last 5K that we did. I wasn't happy at the time, but I'm very happy we did and he pushed me past my limits. We then went to SunFest to walk around and enjoy the sunshine, where we saw Meghan Trainer perform earlier in the week. She was fantastic, doing her first performance since her vocal chord surgery.
Going forward, life is going to pick up again, but hopefully not as hectic. Spring season has started at Grand Champions and my last semester starts next week. Polo shouldn't be too crazy but I am expecting another ridiculous last semester of classes. Also, Emily leaves for PA on Saturday, so Joe and I will be on the hunt for apartments. If anyone has ideas, let me know :)
