Happy New Year 5777

Happy Rosh Hashanah! I was able to go back to Pennsylvania for a few days for the holiday and spend some time with family. Grandma was super excited as I haven't been home for the holidays in a few years. It was nice to be able to see everyone and got to spend some time with Bubby and Grandma and snuck some time in to see Katie and Joy.

Of course my first stop when I got home was to drive up to see George, literally as soon as I landed and got a car. He is really starting to look his age, getting a little grayer each time I see him, but other than that looks good. He's moving really good and seems happy-all good things.
Ben got a pedicure with mom and I
The trip was not long enough but just enough time to relax and get in some quality family time. I wish I had been able to get to Boston though, since Sarah had her baby!! Welcome to the world, Maxwell Joseph Barr, the newest addition to the family. He's so cute and I can't wait to spoil my new cousin long-distance.

I got back to Florida just in time for Hurricane Matthew. I haven't experienced a hurricane yet and was really hoping that I had avoided another season in Florida, but the weather had other plans. This is going to be a Category 4 storm, so a big one and it's headed right towards Palm Beach. I definitely should have stayed up north. Joe and I are going to stay at his parents house, where they have storm shutters and food, unlike our apartment (yes, he moved in :)). I'll update everyone after the storm on my first hurricane experience.
All bundled up and ready to wait out the storm. (Joe's handiwork)
