Nice Break Up North
It’s always nice to be home for a little bit, even if that
time is never long enough. For the first time, in a very long time, I went home
and did NO WORK. Had the whole week and did no work- I didn’t open my laptop
once. That was such a fantastic feeling and I so needed the break, as I was
getting a little burnt out and with season coming back in full swing this week,
it was a good thing.
As soon as I landed on Wednesday, Mom and I went right to
see George. He looks so good and seems to feel good too. He was running around
the ring and searching for treats (as usual). He’s getting a little more grey
and a little more skinny, but he’s holding his own, that’s for sure. I went
back to see him a few more times while I was home and I miss him so much when
I’m gone. But I know he’s happy and taken care of and that’s what matters.
I met Holly and Kelsey for lunch one day and we caught up.
Talked a little about the wedding, but still nothing too concrete as it’s a few
months away yet. Time is going to catch up with us though and it’ll be here
before she knows it. Speaking of weddings…. Joy is engaged!! I knew the day
Ilya proposed, but she didn’t to say anything for a while. But I think it’s
been long enough that I can write about it. Yay!! I’m so excited for them and I
can’t wait to help her start planning stuff, if her mom lets us plan anything
hah. More good news… Eric and Rebecca are expecting a baby this summer! Lots of
good things this holiday season J
The best part about being home, was just hanging out at home
and seeing the boys and mom and dad. I needed to come and recharge and just see
everyone. Every so often I need that reset button, and that’s home with
everyone. It was a plus that Hanukkah ended up being while I was home, part of
it at least, so that was nice.
For Christmas Eve, I went and met Joe at his Aunt and
Uncle’s house and met the entire family. That was fun-they are like my cousins,
maybe a little louder ;). We had a good time and I was happy to finally meet
everyone.
Now, it’s back to Florida and real life. Polo season starts
in two days, so it’s back to non-stop going.
