The Holidays Are Coming
"It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas" or Hanukkah or any other winter holiday. Even though it is still in the low 70s here in Florida, the lights are up and all the gifts are bought, signaling that the holidays are indeed here.
Last weekend Joe and I went with his parents to see the Boat Parade in Jupiter. A bunch of the big boats (and some small boats) made their way down the intercoastal decked out in holiday lights, floating along to Christmas songs. It was similar to driving through the Lights in the Parkway, but instead of driving though the lights, we sat on a blanket and watched as the lights passed us by.
The holiday cheer continues with stockings. Joe's mom has their entire house decorated for the holidays and has stocking hung up for each of them. This year, she bought me a stocking, which is now hanging on the steps with all the others.
A week from Friday I will be headed home to the cold that is Allentown. I am looking forward to a week with family and friends that I havent seen in ages. I will finally be getting to see the girls from PSET who I haven't seen in ever, some for over a year and half. This is a needed trip home and I can't wait, even if it will be cold.
Also, as of tonight, only two final projects are between myself and finishing my first semester of grad school. I think I've made it through pretty easily and am looking forward to next semester.
