Bear With Me For The Long Post...
Once again, this post is a little late. But then again, life has a way of getting away from me. Two weeks ago I went home for a quick mini vacation. Well, more like home for the holidays. It was a very quick trip, Friday through Tuesday for Rosh Hashana. Much needed trip home though, as I haven't been home since April, as much as I was traveling this summer everywhere.
Saturday morning, the first place I went, as usual, was to see my boy. George looks so good. Yes, he is starting to look his age, as he should at 26. But he looks pretty damn good for 26. He pulled me all around the farm in search of the perfect spot to eat and then ran around with me in the indoor ring. After a nice grooming, he was beautified and got very spoiled. I miss him so much but know that he is getting the best care possible. Also, the nicker I get each time I see him makes the quick trips home worth every penny.
Saturday afternoon was a family shopping trip and dinner. Noah came home for the weekend as well and Ben was getting ready for his first week of Junior year. I can't believe how old they are getting. Noah has his own music blog which is awesome and Ben is starting his Junior year! Where did that come from? I remember babysitting him and locking him in his room, and now he is driving, taking the SATs and looking at colleges. That makes me feel very old.
I got to spend Sunday morning with Bubby at the barn, of course. We both rode, her on Simon and me on Mo, then hung out for a bit watching Jackie on Herman. After a quick lunch at Manhattan Bagel, I got ready to see the girls. I was thrilled that Bethany was in town for Liv's wedding so we were finally in the same place. I haven't seen her since Christmas and that is way too long. She recently moved from Louisiana to Maryland, so that means that she will also be within driving distance each time I go home. This makes me beyond excited. Going from seeing each other every day in college to long distance is awful, so closing the gap makes it that much easier to bear. I also got to see Katie for a bit and catch up on life. I haven't seen her since April as she wasn't at Eric's wedding in July. Seeing her made my day, as she is the worst person to get a hold of. I also got to see her nephew who is adorable. Joy wasn't around as she was at a friend's wedding, but I will see her soon.
On Monday, we went up to Grandma's house for the first day of Rosh Hashana. It was odd being there for the High Holidays without Grandpa, as it was the first holiday without him. But it was nice being with everyone and seeing how the community is staying strong and Grandma is now the one keeping it together. It amazes me how much the two of them did/do for their community and I strive to be able to do even half of that.
Last night, Melissa took ChukkerTV to Universal Studios for Horror Nights. I had never been before so wasnt sure what to expect, but we got a VIP tour of all the haunted houses. We were able to skip to the front of every line, making it into every house, plus had the best hotel rooms. Talk about a nice company trip:)
Last weekend, Triton and Tucker had their first puppy playdate at our apartment. It went well with only a few minor altercations so all in all a good first outing. They were adorable together when they were playing nice, as Triton kept pulling Tucker around by his leash. It was a good thing the two of them got together. Emily had to take Tucker to the emergency vet last night and found out he has cancer :( For now, she's just keeping him comfy and making him the happiest puppy he can be. I know he's not going to get better, but I do hope he sticks around for longer than expected. He's been living with me for the last year and I've grown to love him even when he is being a pain and destroying the apartment.
Not the best ending for a post, but I'll be better about updates- on life and on Tuck.
