Nurses and Jedi and Unicorns, O My!
Happy Halloween everyone!!!
It was a long week as I was still getting used to things down here in Florida. But I must say, that I am now all settled in at work, at the house, and in Florida in general. I am getting into a routine, with getting back to the gym and riding, so I feel much better to have a set schedule.
On that note, work is still a little stressful at times, as I am continuing to figure some things out. But i figure that the more I do it, the better it will get. As with any job. Plus, I got business cards, so I feel like a real person. (Note: I never had business cards, in my two years at the paper.)
This weekend was mostly relaxing and catching up on some work as well as sleep. While most of you were starting to see the beginnings of winter, I was relaxing poolside. Sorry. :( One advantage to leaving PA right before it got cold. There is a pool right down the block from the house, so it it absolutely perfect. It's small, but it is just for the community. There was no one there so I had it all to myself and could relax in the quiet for a bit while taking in the sun.
Last night was Moonfest. Halloween is certainly different here. For the first time, I was not bundled up in layers and freezing while walking around. Emily was home, so she came out with me! We went downtown with Joe and his group of friends, who I love. They are so much fun to be around and remind me a bit of my group from school. Just silly and out there. Downtown was packed, I have never seen it that busy. It was so much fun. Tons of different bands, some food, drinks. Everyone just enjoying themselves. Only downside to the night was that Penn State lost horribly to Ohio State. But we won't talk about that.
October is almost over and it does not feel like it should be halloween. It is 80 and sunny, where as I am used to 50 and chilly, with the leaves changing color and signs of fall. Not a church selling pumpkins and the only way you know it's Halloween is because your neighbor has her lawn decorated the Spirit Store puked on it. I guess it'll be Thanksgiving before I know it. But then I will be home for a few days and probably complaining about how cold I am.
This week I am on my own for the most part, as both Kendall and Emily are off to Kentucky for National Horse Show. I would love to go to that show, but I will be busy enough at the office. That's for sure. Plus, I have Joe to keep me company. And my new snuggle buddies Cheshire and Milo. Who can never take the place of my monsters.
PS. Happy Birthday shout out to one of my best friends ever KATIE JANCOVIC, who is now 25 :) I love you!!!!!
