Happy New Year!! Where Did the Time Go?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

IT'S 2014!!!!

I cannot believe that it is already 2014. Last year went by way too fast and I know I am not the only one who thinks so. So much happened last year, but I will just give everyone a quick recap.

First off, I am back where I started off in 2013, down in Wellington. However, last year at this time, I was starting an internship with Phelps Media Group and and having the time of my life. After four months, I unwillingly went back to the paper. Thankfully, I was not back at the Democrat for long, as I was offered a full time position at Phelps and started back in October. So now, I am officially a resident of Florida, well once I do the paperwork, and am loving the sunshine.

I had a great summer of showing with Charlie, who taught me an amazing amount about my riding and I will never forget him. The best part about this year? Besides the new car, new job, new location? I met Joe and we've been dating for just about six months. If I hadn't taken the chance to come to Florida in the first place, that never would have happened. And after a very long summer of long-distance, I am very happy to only be fifteen minutes away from him, not 1500 miles. :)

So, this past year, everything has finally fallen into place. All I need now, is a horse and a dog. Think I'll work on the horse first. I am a horse-girl after all. Speaking of, George is wonderful, and loves his new home. Just as an update.

And what is the best way to start off the new year? Being sick of course. While I was home, enjoying my 'Winter Break' I have a feeling someone in my family was harboring a head cold, or I picked it up from my Bubby who was openly coughing everywhere. Being home was amazing though, as it was such a nice and much-needed break. Even though it was cold and snowy, it was perfect to be cuddled up with the dogs and enjoy my Baileys and hot chocolate. I was able to lesson a few times and also go visit with George, all while freezing my toes off. I am definitely becoming a Floridian. It was also nice to spend time with my family and friends, since I won't be back up north now for a few months. But remember, I am always open to visitors!

Joe and I spent a quiet New Year's Eve at home, ordering in Italian food and watching movies. Perfect relaxing way to kick off the year before the hectic show season starts. Speaking of which, begins next week, so here's to a good year and may it be just as eventful and successful as last year :)
