Ups and downs in the horse world

This week was definitely one filled with ups and downs, literally and figuratively. Starting off, I have the best friends in the whole world. Even though my birthday plans didn't go as planned, Kendall and Joe still surprised me.

We went out for dinner last night  at Kibuki, which is in downtown West Palm. After dinner, we were discussing dessert and the waitress came out with cheese cake and a candle and all the waiters sang happy birthday. I was so surprised and not expecting it at all. It was awesome and they are the absolute best. We then went to Top of the Point, which is a bar from which you can see all of Palm Beach.

The views were so pretty and I had the best company which made it even better. Pre-birthday celebrations was definitely a good night, even if they were not what I was originally planning on.

Continuing on the ups, I have gotten my first client as a PMG employee. Emily and I have started riding at Castlewood Farm, owned by Alan Korotkin. We are taking lessons with his assistant trainer Stephen, and he is such a good teacher. I think it is going to be a good fit and I will still be taking lessons with Wendy, because I love Hampton. But, to go along with the lessons, we also get to ride horses during the week, just hacking. And it is the perfect solution for my 'where can I ride' question, because I am going to be doing PR for them in exchange for riding time. I am so excited :)

The downs from the week- my first lesson with Stephen. I was going to a jump, the horse spooked after the fence, and he went one way and I went the other. Like I said, down. Hard. A headache, sore back and stiff neck, and I'm good as new :) Nothing advil can't fix and it's all part of riding.

The social event from this week was the USET gala. I wasn't working the actual event, just the check-in table and Joe was helping, so it was fun. A reason to get dressed up and go out. Julie took us out for dinner after and we had a good night.

It was a long week, from the horses, to the office move. But tomorrow is a big day. Birthday day!!!! Quarter of a century old, holy crap, can I start freaking out yet?
