Social season is underway
The Winter Equestrian Festival is well into is third week and the social season is kicking into gear. The star of the horseshow would not be amazing without the JustWorld gala. This event last year blew my mind, with the masquerade and amazing venetian atmosphere that the farm turned into. This year was just as fantastic. The red and gold theme proved to be great backdrop for the year of the horse, as over 650 guests made their way to Belle Herbe Farm.
There were dancing horses and dragons, a very long live auction, amazing food, and most of all, I had the best company. It is always fun getting dressed up, especially when I rented a fabulous dress for the night. The entire PMG staff was there, so it was a nice night out of the office, even if there was some work involved.
After a long night on Friday, Saturday was spent mostly laying around until it came time for the fair. :) Joe and I went to the South Florida Fair with Tiff and her friend Dorothy. When I say this fair is big, imagine the Allentown Fair times 5 or so. It's huge. Food, rides, games, animals, and Old Time Section. It has everything you could ever want in a fair. I don't think I have ever eaten that much sugary goodness in that small amount of time= half a funnel cake and a cinnamon bun. Yup. And Guess what, I pet a kangaroo and a Zedonk. Yes I did:) SOooo soft. Who else can say that they have pet a kangaroo?
Thankfully the kangaroo had an early bedtime, because I had to wake up at the crack of dawn on Sunday. It was the coldest morning ever, 40 degrees for Florida, and I decided to cover the Young Rider Grand Prix at the horseshow. It was fun and I forgot how much I liked covering the show. Tori won, of course, but the class was very good. Check out my story and let me know what you think!
