A Weekend Full of Laughter
Friday night we went to see Jay Mohr ar the Palm Beach Improv theatre. I went in not quite sure what to expect. I had attempted to listen to Jay's radio show one day and made it through maybe five minutes so I wasn't sure if I was going to be laughing hysterically during the show or not at all. I was laughing the entire time. He was hysterical, I was dying. There wasn't a minute of the show that I didn't like or didn't think that he was funny.
After the show, there was a quick meet and greet. Jay and Joe were talking to each other like they were old friends and just hadn't seen each other in a few weeks. I knew they spoke via Twitter but didn't realize how much and how cool it was to have celebrities as 'friends.' Jay left Joe two free tickets for the Saturday show and even asked us to come back after and meet him again.
So Saturday night we went back to the Improv theatre and ended up in the front row :) I was very worried after the opening act that Jay would also be repeating Friday night's performance. Thankfully, I was happily surprised with brand new jokes. The entire act, minus the last ten minutes or so, was different. Even though ending up sitting in the front row was pretty cool, what happened after the show was even better. Joe and I had our own private meet and greet with Jay in the green room. Yes, being around all the equine Olympians and celebrities is a 'normal' things, but hanging out with a different type of celebrity was very cool too. Especially since we were given tickets by him and asked to hang out by him :)
Like I said, I had no expectations going into the weekend and came out pleasantly surprised at the end, while Joe couldn't get the goofy grin off his face.
All in all, a very good weekend and start to the new year :)
