WEF is officially under way

Hey guys!
So I am down in Wellington and working as part of the Phelps Media Group staff. It has been a busy few days and since today was the official start of the season, it is just the beginning.

Yesterday was my first day at Phelps and we received our press passes, giving us access to the media events and have vantage points on the showgrounds at the Palm Beach Equestrian Center. There were four of us that attended an opening press conference to receive our credentials, and I was able to meet Laura Kraut, who spoke at the event. *For any PSET people, Emily Riden and I are working together*

After the press conference, a bunch of us went out to Big Dog Ranch, a 22-acre no-kill dog rescue. We were given a tour and met some of the wonderful dogs that they have up for adoption. The shelter does some amazing things and I fell in love with some of the puppies and will definitely be going back to get one in the near future.

Today was the opening day of the horse show, so Emily and I shadowed Kendall, one of the account executives for the first hour of classes. We watched the Green Conformation classes. Then I was left on my own to take photos and conduct interviews for the remainder of the class, along with the Regular Working Hunters and the High Performance Hunters. I was able to meet and interview Scott Stewart, Holly Orlando and Kelley Farmer, all who are well-known and work with younger horses.

It's only the second day of the internship, and I already have two articles posted. It is going to be a busy show season, but the best time of my life.
